National Writing Project Midwest Conference

The 2021 Conference is hosted by the Red River Valley Writing Project at NDSU and the keynote speaker is Cornelius Minor, author of We Got This! Equity, Access, and the Quest to Be Who Our Students Need Us to Be. Writing Project teacher-leaders will be leading a variety of breakout sessions on the teaching of writing. Open to teachers from K-college of any subject area. Connect with other teachers in the Midwest region. Plan to write during this conference–we believe that to be a good teacher of writing, we should write!

Student-Centered Learning for Equity 2021 – Breakout Sessions

Student-Centered Learning for Equity 2021: Learning from Disruption, Healing Forward

Registration is now open for the Bush Foundation’s fifth regional convening dedicated to honoring who students are, how they learn, and where they want to go.

What a school year it’s been. And while a year can bring unthinkable trauma and disruption, it can also carry seeds of opportunity. Now is our once-in-a-generation chance for a hard pivot: away from the status quo, toward an equitable, student-centered future.

Let’s close this year out in community, through inspiring speakers, skill-building sessions, virtual school tours, student performances, and more.

Opening plenary: May 18, 3:00 to 4:30pm
Breakout sessions: May 19 to May 26
Closing plenary: May 27, 4:00 to 4:45pm
