$160Designed to offer music education professionals an opportunity to work with noted experts in your respective fields. There are optimal opportunities for you to receive advanced instruction in your chosen track. Guest lecturers are: Dr. David Frego is professor and director of the School of Music at Penn State University. Dr. Frego is past president of the American Eurhythmics Society and the Dalcroze Society of America, and regularly presents workshops on Dalcroze Eurhythmics throughout the globe. While performing artists of all ages benefit from rhythmic training, eurhythmics in teacher training is an important focus of Dr. Frego’s research. Other teaching and research areas include dance philosophy and the application of Dalcroze Eurhythmics as palliative care for adults with post-traumatic stress. Dr. Deborah Confredo (formerly Sheldon) is Professor Music Education and Director of Graduate Programs for Music Education at the Boyer College of Music and Dance. Confredo’s specialties include instrumental rehearsal techniques and teaching methods, assessment, research, music psychology, cognitive-behavioral techniques, conducting, wind band literature, and systematic observation. She is an instrumental editor, arranger, author, and consultant for the FJH Music Company and lead author for the FJH publication Measures of Success, a band method for beginning and intermediate instrumentalists. She is founder of the Temple Night Owls Campus/Community Band. Confredo is in demand as clinician, adjudicator, guest conductor, and lecturer. Tau Beta Sigma and the Illinois Music Educators Association have honored her for her distinguished service to music and music education. Mansfield University has recognized her as a distinguished alumnus.
