May 31 @ 12:00 am - June 27 @ 12:00 am$200
Instructor: Kevin Moberg, Assistant Professor of English and Education, Dickinson State University, ND
Librarians and teachers of all grades and subjects are invited to join this online book club to discuss works of middle grade and young adult literature set in North Dakota. The protagonists portray what it is like to experience adolescence in different eras and regions of this state. Do they give readers an accurate impression? Do the novels offer North Dakotan teens insights into their own adolescence as it is shaped by this place? Participants in this course will consider what the books offer their intended audience. At the same time, we will enjoy being readers ourselves and interacting online in our own literacy community.
