Instructional Support: Reading and Writing (for Paraeducators and Tutors

This virtual training is designed to support paraeducators and tutors in North Dakota schools. It will provide instructional practices designed to increase K-12 student learning outcomes. The participants will complete modules prior to engaging in two synchronous, virtual connections in which they will collaborate with others to synthesize their learning, ask questions, provide insight into their work, and practice their new learning and skills in a safe and inclusive setting. Participants will have free access to all courses from the Master Teacher for one year.
Participants will complete modules 1-2 exploring content in supporting reading instruction in Social Studies, Science, and Mathematics before attending a synchronous check-in on February 23 or 24, 2022. They will then complete modules 3-4 exploring content about supporting adolescents with learning disabilities in writing and providing strategies for struggling readers in all academic areas before attending a synchronous check-in on April 19 or 20, 2022.
