October 7, 2019 @ 8:00 am - March 9, 2020 @ 5:00 pm$130
The North Dakota Multi-Tiered Systems of Support, (NDMTSS) Project, is a capacity building professional development opportunity sponsored by the South East Education Cooperative (SEEC), the Missouri River Education Cooperative (MREC) and the Mid-Dakota Education Cooperative (MDEC). The goals of this project are to become familiar with and implement essential components of a multi-tiered support system that will increase student achievement.
NDMTSS is a framework to provide all students with the best opportunities to succeed academically, socially, emotionally and behaviorally in school. NDMTSS focuses on providing high-quality instruction and intervention matched to student need, monitoring progress frequently to make decisions about changes in instruction or goals. Data is used to allocate resources to improve student learning and support staff implementation of effective practices
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), is the application of evidence-based strategies and systems to assist schools to improve academic performances, enhance school safety, decrease problem behavior, and establish positive school cultures through a multi-tiered behavioral framework.
This training, intended for leadership teams, designed to fit within the NDMTSS framework to build data analysis and interpretation skills integral to optimizing students’ performance, as related to behaviors. Schools will plan for the identification and teaching of school-wide expectations of behavior. Further, they will develop plans for active supervision, problem behavior, classroom management, data collection and data systems. Upon completion, schools will have identified gaps in current practice and have an action plan for steps to improve practice in their building.
